Eddie and Laura Bauer began The Bauer Group, LLC, in 1998, providing fund raising and communications services to Catholic orders, congregations, and other nonprofit organizations.
After working as a newspaper reporter, Eddie began his nonprofit career in 1986 in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Atlanta regional office. He has directed development offices for religious, educational, and medical institutions. After several years as a senior managing director for a nationally known fund raising firm, he and Laura decided to begin a consulting business of their own.
Since 1998, The Bauer Group, LLC, has worked with clients across the country and internationally. Eddie is well-known in the Catholic world for his expertise in developing and furthering major gift efforts. He is also a respected writer and is often called upon for his skill in this area. A dynamic speaker, he is able to energize groups and lead productive discussions to advance a spirit of teamwork and focus on mission.
Laura holds an MBA in finance from Indiana University, and began her career as a financial analyst in a regional bank in Atlanta that eventually became part of Bank of America. While in banking, Laura’s work focused on budgeting and strategic planning. Working for the parent company, she prepared external reports for shareholders as well as analysis of competitors for internal planning. She has the ability to synthesize narrative, mission, and financials. Having an interest in photography and art, she has developed skills in these areas and has designed brochures and newsletters for many organizations. Over the past few years she has also begun to edit and produce video and audio for our clients.
The Bauer Group, LLC, specializes in communications, strategic planning, and major gift development. We believe that all fund raising is at its essence major gift development.
